Hey, my name's Robby and I'm a bike messenger in NYC with a special interest in uncovering the strange and controversial local history here. I love to learn about the inspiring and funny stories behind the landmarks and residences I pass daily and share what I discover in a well curated bike ride. I chose to operate my tours independently so that I can create my own authentic introduction to Manhattan. In the five years I've been a tour guide, this part-time job has spiraled in to a personally fulfilling 'career' path. On this spirited bicycle excursion around Central Park, the Upper West Side, and Upper East Side, we'll explore topics relating to racial inequality, political activism, feminism and more radical history topics. The landmarks visited, the topics discussed, and the food & drink options are all thoughtful inclusions I hope my guests will find a personal connection with. The conversations held at each point of interest aim to build an appreciation of those who made New York City. At the end of the tour, I hope to leave everyone feeling inspired and moved by what they saw and learned. The ride takes an easy, comfortable pace and follows a meticulously curated route to the less conspicuous marvels of New York.
