Description

Explore the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. Founded in 1929, MoMA was the first museum dedicated exclusively to modern art. Over the years, it has grown to become a key institution in the promotion and preservation of modern and contemporary art, housing a diverse collection that spans painting, sculpture, photography, film, design, architecture, and more. MoMA is housed in a striking building designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi, with major renovations completed in 2004. The sleek, minimalist design of the building enhances the museum’s emphasis on modernity and innovation. The spaces within are open and airy, with natural light flooding the galleries through large windows. In 2019, the museum underwent another renovation to expand and reconfigure its galleries, making it more accessible and better suited for the growing collection. The MoMA collection is vast and encompasses over 200,000 works, including pieces from some of the most famous artists in modern history. Important Information

MoMA is open daily from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Last admission is one hour before closing. Children under 16 years of age receive free admission. No large bags or backpacks are allowed inside the museum. Photography is permitted for personal use only. No flash, tripods, or selfie sticks. Food and drinks are not allowed inside the gallery spaces. Wheelchair accessible.
