Description

Explore in detail the engineering and design concepts behind the Twin Towers, the new 1 WTC, as well as the 9/11 Memorial. Visit various points at the new WTC campus, including the Oculus, St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Liberty Park, the Fireman's Memorial and the 9/11 Memorial plaza. This tour focuses on the history and decisions made when building both the original and new WTC sites, and explores in depth some of the engineering and design marvels. Dive into a detailed and honest discussion of what went wrong in the original towers, and the politics and public sentiment behind the decisions that were made. This tour will not sensationalize the events of 9/11, but will explore some of the more difficult moments on that day, and the days and weeks after. This tour is ENGLISH ONLY and may not be suitable for children, as topics will be discussed that might be considered disturbing. Please use discretion when bringing children on the tour. Meeting point is at the Silverstein Family Park, at Greenwich Street outside of WTC 7.
