Description

Join us for 3 hours of discovery aboard one of our classic yachts as we navigate New York Harbor from Chelsea Piers to the hidden East River gems of Belmont Island, Roosevelt Island, Mill Rock, North Brother Island, and South Brother Island. This captivating cruise through the heart of New York City highlights the breathtaking harmony of history and nature. Prepare to witness Manhattan's picturesque skyline, the bustling waterway of the East River, and the fascinating entrance to Long Island Sound. Either Gabriel Willow or Russell Jacobs, expert guides and Urban Naturalists, will regale you with historical information about these iconic islands and the exciting wildlife that frequents the area. Picturesque North Brother Island and South Brother Island provide critical nesting habitat for a variety of bird species as nationally-recognized havens for colonial water birds, gulls, herons, cormorants, and egrets. View the mysterious hospital ruins and other dilapidated buildings of North Brother Island while learning about its history as a quarantine hospital for contagious diseases and as the infamous final resting place of Typhoid Mary. As we approach South Brother Island, hear tales about the fiery 1909 demise of former New York Yankees' owner Jacob Ruppert's summer home. As dusk approaches, we will take in the beauty of this uninhabited island, now under the stewardship of the NYC Parks Department, as native birds return from their feeding grounds to provide for their young and to roost for the night.
